The standard progressive process:

We will be shipping you your glasses with blank demo lenses (no prescription) first.

To assure the highest level of precision for your progressove or bi-focal lenses please follow these next steps:

  • Try on your glasses to make sure a.) they fit and b.) you like them!
  • Check that you are wearing the frames as you would normally and comfortable and look straight ahead in a mirror.
  • Use the included marker to make a dot or small line on the lenses where the center of your pupils are. You can use any other type of permanent marker for this step. (You can also ask another person for help with this task.)
  • Once finished, pleae re-pack your marked frames and ship them back to us ( Vint & York, 68 Atlantic Ave., Lynbrook, NY, 11563 ) using the same box and enclosed return label.

Once we receive the marked glasses we will begin preparing your next customized frames. They are usually ready within 5-7 days from the day we receive them.

You can choose to bypass this process and request that we make your progressive glasses using average measurements. If you choose to bypass simply email us at support@vintandyork.com with the request to process your progressive lenses with the average measurements or call us at 800-846-9915.

Please not that any frames made according to this request will also be non-refundable. However we will make sure that your lenses are perfect and will remake them if necessary, free of charge.

WHAT ARE PROGRESSIVE GLASSES?

Progressive lenses, also called multifocal lenses, PALs, or varifocal lenses, are corrective lenses that correct presbyopia and other vision disorders.

Tired of constantly switching between distance, intermediate, and reading glasses? Our progressive glasses have you covered so you can enjoy the benefits of three pairs at the same time. Why have several pairs of glasses for different activities — reading, computer use, distance viewing, television watching, etc., when you can have progressive glasses?

Progressive glasses or PALs are optical eyeglasses used to correct distance, intermediate (computer usage), and near (reading usage) vision problems at the same time. To do this, they use multifocal lenses. Our progressive lenses are developed with digital HD free-form technology — the best and most advanced on the market. A progressive lens is an amazing piece of engineering. These allow multiple vision fields to be incorporated into a single lens without any clear distinction between the fields themselves.

Line-free multifocal lenses help you see the world clearly at any distance.

Vint & York, all of our progressive lenses are custom-tailored based on your specifications. This includes measurements, frame shape and size, prescription, and other details. Our laboratory is equipped to handle all types of prescriptions. We strive to craft the most accurate digital free-form progressive lenses.

Our progressive lenses give you the convenience of only needing one pair of specs and eliminate switching between multiple pairs. They can be used on regular lenses or on sunglasses for women and men.

How Progressive Lenses Work

Progressive lenses are multifocal lenses that give a seamless progression of many lens powers for clear vision no matter the distance. They work by having a gradual change in strength from the top of the lens to the bottom and multiple focal points in betwee. The upper part of the lens contains the distance power, the middle of the lens has the intermediate ranges and the lower portion allows for reading strength.

Distance vision: This is used through the upper part of the lens. This part of the lens is used when looking straight ahead for activities like driving and watching faraway objects.

Intermediate vision: This can be seen through the middle of the lens. This part of the lens is used when looking at something an arm's length away, such as computer work.

Near vision: This is through the lower part of the lens. Use this for close-up activites such as reading.

Progressive Lens Options

We can fit all types of prescriptions and offer the following progressive lenses:

DIGITAL PROGRESSIVE LENSES - CUSTOMIZED PRECISELY FOR YOUR ONE-OF-A-KIND EYES!
Today, the world is digital and now your glasses can be too. Digital progressive lenses have a wider area for distortion-free reading and sharp distance vision. This ensures the most precise prescription based on the shape of your face, how you prefer to wear your frame, and the position of your eyes. These lenses can be customized for your one-of-a-kind eyes!

PROGRESSIVE READING LENSES
Progressive reading lenses have no prescription in the top part of the lens but have the reading prescription at the bottom. This allows you to wear glasses full-time without having to take them on and off.

PROGRESSIVE LENS SUNGLASSES
Progressive sunglasses are just like your regular, fashionable sunglasses, but with your prescription in the lenses. Enjoy sharp vision at every distance during outdoor activities whether you’re hiking, going on a road trip, or reading on the beach. When the sun is up, you need a quality pair of progressive sunglasses to block UV rays and correct your vision. We provide excellent sunglasses for women and men to fit each individual style.

PHOTOCHROMIC PROGRESSIVE LENSES
Photochromic (or transition) lenses are clear inside and darken when exposed to UV light outside. They are available in almost all lens types and prescriptions as well as several color options.

BLUE LIGHT PROTECTION PROGRESSIVE LENSES
Blue light is emitted from the sun as well as from digital devices. Progressive lenses with blue light protection will provide you with clear vision when working on a computer screen and help to reduce visual fatigue. These computer glasses with special lenses can be used for work, school, or just for fun.

COMPUTER PROGRESSIVE LENSES
If you have a desk job that involves a lot of computer work, you might benefit from computer glasses that have a progressive lens. The top part of the lens has the intermediate prescription so when you look straight ahead at your computer, the screen is clear with a wide field of vision. Try our computer glasses for a more relaxed, comfortable computer viewing experience.
